BoardReady — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

BoardReady is published by Awesomeosity LLC.

The short version

Awesomeosity LLC collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-up, no email address, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind, and the app never sends anything to a server we operate, because there is no such server.

Out of the box, everything BoardReady does happens on your device: dictation is transcribed on the device, briefings are written by Apple's on-device model or by the app's own built-in writer, and they are read aloud by your device's system voices.

The app only sends anything over the network if you choose to connect it to an outside service in Settings — Anthropic, an OpenAI-compatible server, or ElevenLabs — using an API key from your own account with that service. When you do, the request goes straight from your device to the service you chose. It does not pass through Awesomeosity LLC, and we never see it.

What stays on your device

Your briefings. What you dictate, type, or import, and every briefing generated from it — the talking points, the script, and the anticipated questions — are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, they also sync to your own private iCloud database, which is tied to your Apple Account. Awesomeosity LLC has no ability to read, export, or recover that data. If iCloud is off or unavailable, your briefings simply stay on the one device.

Briefing audio. When a briefing is read aloud, the audio file is saved in the app's private storage on your device. It is not uploaded by the app and is not part of the iCloud sync — a briefing opened on another device shows its text and offers to create the audio again. Like the rest of the app's local data, it may be included in your device's own backup. Deleting a briefing, its audio, or the app deletes the file.

Your settings. Your chosen provider, model, server address, voice, and default dial settings are stored on your device only. They are not synced.

Your API keys. Any API key you enter is stored in your device's Keychain. It is not synced through iCloud Keychain, and it is only ever sent to the service it belongs to, as the credential on your own requests. Each service's key is kept separately, so a key for one service is never sent to another.

Microphone and dictation

Microphone access is used only while you are actively dictating. The app never records to a file: the audio is passed to the transcriber as you speak and discarded when you stop. Declining microphone access only means you type or import instead.

On-device transcription is the default. It uses Apple's speech recognition on your device. The first time you dictate, iOS may download a speech model for your language from Apple; none of your audio is sent in the process.

Cloud transcription is optional, and only happens if you select it in Settings:

  • ElevenLabs Scribe — your dictation audio is uploaded to ElevenLabs, with your ElevenLabs API key and your chosen language, and the transcript comes back.
  • OpenAI Whisper — your dictation audio is uploaded to the OpenAI-compatible server address you entered in Settings (which may be OpenAI, or a server you run yourself), with that server's API key if you set one, and the transcript comes back.

If a cloud transcription request fails, the app transcribes the same audio on your device instead and tells you so. The audio is held in memory for that purpose only, and is never written to storage.

Imported files

You can import a plain text, RTF, or PDF file to use as source material. The app reads the text out of the file you pick, keeps up to 20,000 characters of it as the briefing's source, and does nothing else with the file. It only ever sees files you choose in the Files picker.

Writing briefings

You choose who writes your briefings in Settings.

Apple Intelligence (the default) runs entirely on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

The built-in writer is part of the app and takes over whenever the on-device model is unavailable or its result is not usable. It runs entirely on your device.

Anthropic and OpenAI-compatible are optional, and only used if you select them and supply your own account details. To generate a briefing, the app sends that service what it needs to write one: the text you dictated, typed, or imported; the briefing's title and presentation date; the topics you selected; the speaking length; your dial settings; and, while writing the script, the talking points already generated. The service sends the writing back.

  • Anthropic requests go to Anthropic's API, with your Anthropic API key.
  • OpenAI-compatible requests go to whatever server address you entered — for example OpenAI, OpenRouter, or a server you run yourself — with that server's API key if you set one. Requests to OpenRouter, and only to OpenRouter, also carry two fixed headers that name the app (X-Title: BoardReady and an HTTP-Referer naming the app's web page), which OpenRouter uses to attribute traffic to an app. They contain nothing about you.

Testing a connection in Settings asks the service for its list of models, sending only your API key.

Reading briefings aloud

System voices (the default) are your device's own voices. Speech is generated on your device.

ElevenLabs voices are optional, and only used if you select one and supply your own ElevenLabs API key. To read a briefing aloud, the app sends ElevenLabs the briefing's script text, the voice you chose, and delivery settings such as speed. ElevenLabs sends the audio back, and it is saved on your device as described above. With a key entered, the app also fetches your account's voice list from ElevenLabs, and previewing an ElevenLabs voice plays that voice's sample from ElevenLabs.

Services you connect

Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, ElevenLabs, and any server you point the app at are independent of Awesomeosity LLC. Requests to them are made under your account and your API key, and what they do with that data is governed by your agreement with them and their own privacy policies — not by this one. Please read theirs before connecting one. If you point the app at a server you run yourself, the data goes only to that server.

Awesomeosity LLC has no account with these services on your behalf, does not receive copies of your requests, and cannot see, retrieve, or delete anything you have sent to them.

Sharing and exporting

You can copy a briefing's text, or share it as text, as a PDF, or as its audio file, through the standard iOS share sheet. The PDF is created on your device for that purpose. Where it goes after that is your choice; the app sends nothing anywhere on its own.

What leaves your device

Nothing, unless you choose otherwise. The only things that ever leave are:

  • your own iCloud sync, described above, which goes directly between your device and your Apple Account; and
  • requests to the services you connect yourself, described above, which go directly between your device and that service.

BoardReady contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking identifiers, and no third-party SDKs of any kind.

Purchases

BoardReady Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system, as a monthly or yearly subscription with a seven-day free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple handles the entire transaction. Awesomeosity LLC never receives or has access to your payment details. Apple provides us with aggregate, anonymised sales reporting — totals and territories, never individuals. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.

Children

BoardReady is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — including children.

Your rights

Because BoardReady holds no data about you on any system we control, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export, or delete on request. Your briefings are yours, on your device and in your own iCloud, and you can remove them at any time by deleting them in the app, or by deleting the app and clearing its iCloud data from your Apple Account settings. For anything you have sent to a service you connected, contact that service directly.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
